From October of 2003 to May of 2004, Andrea Stevenson Won worked in the Exhibitions Department at the American Museum of Natural History on the renovation of the Hall of Ocean Life.
During this time she created or helped to create dozens of models for the dioramas in the hall, ranging from jellyfish, sea-urchins and ribbon eel sculpted and cast in resin, to life-casts of big cod and bluefish. Some of the models can be seen in the images on the right. You can see Andrea working on the Continental Shelf ecosystem here.
The opportunity to work at the museum and see behind the scenes was a wonderful experience. In honor of the museum, Andrea wrote a loving tribute for the Village Voice Best of New York 2003.
